BioI was born and raised in a northern suburb of Melbourne, Australia. At age 26 I made the crazy decision to visit a great (online) friend (who had recently moved back to his hometown of Anchorage, Alaska after living in Portland, Oregon for about 6 years) and left my home country, arriving in the mighty USA on December 13, 1998 to be precise.
We met and have been inseparable since. This past Feb 23, 2008 was our 10th year wedding anniversary. He's awesome and definitely my better half.
We've resided in Portland, Oregon now since October 1998 and recently (April 3, 2008 to be annoyingly exact) purchased our first home here in SE Portland.
I am still in the frustrating throes of trying to obtain permanent citizenship in the US. Paperwork just takes a bloooooody long time with USCIS! :o)
Other than that...Lemme see - I love hanging out with hubby - whether we're dagging around, driving around, fooling around lol, or watching shows upstairs in entertainment room or having a bbq and a beer together (or my new fave - crisp riesling with fresh strawberries in a nice glass), watching my two young cats make complete arses out of themselves (always amusing)....
Of course screenwriting will always be my main goal, career wise. At least for now. Who knows, maybe it will diversify as I get older. Currently have a script under option - who knows if it will sell. Working on the next now...
Also working on the new - it's new construction so we're the first owners so lots of fun and lots of work. Neighbors are awesome mostly...mostly. Darn it for the not-so-mostly ones. lol... Actually they're ok if only they'd take care of their yards, dangit. And stop playing drums at midnight. yeah
OTHER RANDOM USELESS FACTOIDS:
* I bite my nails. It sucks and I hate it but it's a compulsion.
* I gave up smoking on July 4, 1997
* I don't/shouldn't drink often but since my trip to Hawaii in Feb I've rediscovered a passion for cocktails (specifically Mai Tais and (good) Pina Coladas).
* I'm a big girl trying to get healthy (and slim)
* I am a bit (ok a lot) of a spaz - I love being a dork around my friends
* I love my family and friends and am fiercly loyal
* I hate brussel sprouts and ALL seafood. Yes, I know, I'm from Australia and I don't like seafood. Go figure.
* My cats can out-weird your cats.
* I think American holiday traditions (Thanksgiving, Halloween, July 4 etc) rock!
* I'm do not have, nor am I going to have children. This doesn't mean I'm a children hater, it just means they're not for me. I do however have a lovely step-daughter (17 now, wow) who lives with her mom and I love her very much. And I'm okay with the decision, I'm not lacking in some way, honest. I'm good. :o)
* I have a fear of driving and thus, do not have my drivers license, nor did I have one in Aussieland either. **UPDATE - I overcame my phobia and got my license August 2008!!!! :o)
* I have discovered that raccoons aren't scary and cute like the pictures, they are bloody scary at night, especially when you're accosted by a family of them whilst camping.
* I'm currently trying to learn to draw. I suck at it, thus the "trying" part.
* I write screenplays.
